New Delhi/IBNS, Oct. 2 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spoke to hospitalised Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge and took stock of his health.

Kharge underwent a procedure for pacemaker transplant, said his son Priyank Kharge.

The 83-year-old leader was admitted to MS Ramaiah Hospital in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

Kharge is currently the Congress' Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Parliament.
