Prayagraj/IBNS, Feb. 5 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam in Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.

Modi wore track pants and presumably a saffron sweatshirt with religious beads dangling from his neck to take the holy bath.

The Prime Minister prayed to the God at a considerable depth of the river amid heightened security in the city of Prayagraj.

Earlier, he was seen travelling in a jetty with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to the Maha Kumbh.

Union home minister Amit Shah, defence minister Rajnath Singh, boxing icon Mary Kom, American billionaire businessman Steve Jobs' wife Laurene Powell Jobs were among the VIPs who attended the festival.
