Kolkata/IBNS, Dec. 20 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public rally in West Bengal's Nadia district on Saturday was delayed after his helicopter was unable to land due to dense fog, media reports said.

The rally was set to be his first public appearance since the first phase of the controversial Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the state.

Modi is also scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for two National Highway projects worth around Rs. 3,200 crore.

He will inaugurate the 66.7 km, 4-laning Barajaguli-Krishnanagar section of NH-34 in Nadia district, and lay the foundation stone for the 17.6 km, 4-laning Barasat-Barajaguli section of NH-34 in North 24 Parganas district.
