India, Aug. 31 -- Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Sunday said PM Narendra Modi raised the issue of cross-border terrorism during his bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in Tianjin.

"I would, in fact, like to say that we have received the understanding and cooperation of China as we have dealt with the issue of cross-border terrorism in the context of the ongoing SCO Summit," he said.

The meeting occurred months after India and Pakistan were engaged in a bitter border conflict in May, following the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that left several Indian tourists dead.

Pakistan is an all-weather ally of China.
