India, Feb. 15 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been formally invited to attend the oath-taking ceremony of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairman Tarique Rahman, who is set to be sworn in as the next Prime Minister of Bangladesh on February 17, a development being closely watched in New Delhi and across South Asia, media reports said.

According to NDTV's sources, the invitation was extended as part of a broader diplomatic outreach by Bangladesh's interim administration ahead of the high-profile ceremony in Dhaka.
