India, July 9 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with the highest civilian award of Namibia - Order of the Most Ancient Welwitschia Mirabilis during his state visit to the country.
The award was conferred on him by Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.
PM Modi is the first Indian leader to be given this award.
He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to President Nandi-Ndaitwah and the people of Namibia for the accolade.
The two leaders held discussions on further strengthening bilateral ties, including in the areas of defence, maritime security, digital technology & UPI, agriculture, health and pharma, energy, and critical minerals.
