India, Dec. 28 -- Pakistani cricketer Imad Wasim has announced his separation from his wife Sannia Ashfaq, citing irreconcilable differences, media reports said.

The cricketer also appealed to the media and the public to respect the family's privacy during this difficult period.

Imad Wasim married London-based Sannia Ashfaq in August 2019. The couple has three children.

In a separate statement, Sannia alleged that the involvement of a "third party" led to the breakdown of the marriage.

She added: "This is not a story I wished to share, but silence should never be mistaken for weakness."
