India, April 26 -- The Pakistani Army carried out unprovoked firing at Indian posts located across the Line of Control on Friday night amid heightening tensions between the two nuclear-armed countries following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.

No casualties have been reported so far.

This is the second consecutive night when Pakistani troops provoked the Indian side.

Officials told the India Today news channel that Indian troops responded proportionately to the situation, ensuring border security remained intact.
