India, April 29 -- Pakistan's counterterrorism department of the Balochistan police recently claimed to have foiled a major terror attack in Quetta by killing two alleged terrorists on Monday.
The deceased terrorists reportedly included a suicide bomber.
A spokesman for the CTD told Dawn News that an operation was carried out on the basis of an intelligence report about the presence of suspected terrorists in the Derakhshan area, some 25km from the Quetta-Sukkur highway.
"A heavy exchange of fire took place between CTD personnel and armed terrorists who were equipped with heavy weapons," the spokesman said, adding that as a result of the heavy firing two alleged terrorists belonging to a banned organisation were killed.
