Peshawar, Jan. 31 -- The death toll due to the bomb blast inside a mosque at the Police Lines compound in Pakistan's Peshawar city has touched 72, media reports said on Tuesday.

Rescue teams have recovered nine more bodies from the debris in the wee hours of Tuesday.

According to security officials, the suicide attacker was present in the front row during the Zuhr prayer when he exploded himself.

The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan had taken responsibility for the incident.
