India, Aug. 20 -- The Lok Sabha on Wednesday witnessed a chaotic scene when opposition members tore up copies of three bills, dealing with the Prime Minister and Chief Ministers arrested on serious charges for 30 days.

The bills that were introduced in the House were the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill, the Government of Union Territories (Amendment) Bill, and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah introduced the bills in the lower house, amid sloganeering by the opposition leaders.

While the opposition MPs allege the bill is being brought in a hurry, Shah denied such a claim.

The bill will be sent to the joint parliamentary panel.
