India, May 26 -- Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has said India launched Operation Sindoor not to target the common people of Pakistan but to hit the terror base in the neighbouring country.
"Operation Sindoor was not intended to be against the people of Pakistan but against the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK," he told ANI.
"I congratulate our armed forces that none of the civilians of Pakistan were killed, as only terrorists were killed, and some family members of terrorists," he said.
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, which left 26 people, mostly non-Muslim tourists, killed.
