India, Feb. 21 -- US-based Artificial Intelligence firm OpenAI has said its ChatGPT platform is used by more than 100 million users weekly in India.

In a statement issued by the company, the firm said: "India is now home to more than 100 million weekly ChatGPT users, from students and teachers to developers and entrepreneurs."

OpenAI announced the figures amid the government-hosted India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, which was attended by the company's CEO Sam Altman.

To better serve users and partners in India, OpenAI says it plans to open new offices in Mumbai and Bengaluru later this year, alongside its existing presence in New Delhi.
