Guwahati/IBNS, Nov. 25 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday declared that iconic singer Zubeen Garg's death was not an accident, but murder.
Sarma added that the motive behind the crime "will shock the people of the state."
Zubeen Garg, who passed away in Singapore, reportedly drowned. At the time, he was attending the celebration of 60 years of India-Singapore diplomatic ties as part of the Indo-ASEAN Year of Tourism.
In response to the allegations, Assam has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the CID to probe the circumstances surrounding his death.
