India, Jan. 11 -- Ayodhya Food Commissioner Manik Chandra Singh on Saturday announced a complete ban on the sale and consumption of non-vegetarian food in hotels and restaurants across Ayodhya Dham, citing the city's religious and cultural significance.

The ban also extends to online food delivery services, with authorities warning of strict action against hotels and delivery platforms found violating the directive.

Speaking to ANI, Singh said non-vegetarian food will no longer be served or delivered in the holy town.

The Food Commissioner added that hotels and delivery services must strictly adhere to the rules, failing which punitive action will be initiated.
