India, Jan. 10 -- The Norwegian Nobel Committee has issued a clarification stating that the Nobel Peace Prize cannot be "shared, revoked, or transferred," after US President Donald Trump said he was ready to accept the laureate if Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado offered it to him.

"The facts are clear and well established. Once a Nobel Prize is announced, it cannot be revoked, shared, or transferred to others. The decision is final and stands for all time," the Committee said in a statement.

According to reports, Machado recently said she would want to share the prize with the President.
