India, July 11 -- The section of the National Highway 216 leading to Gyirong Port in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, which was damaged due to the flash flood which hit the region on Thursday, was reopened on Friday.
Emergency response teams promptly began repair work using methods such as gravel backfilling to restore access, reported Xinhua news agency.
Authorities told the news agency that 24-hour monitoring and maintenance will continue to ensure the road's safety and stability.
Flash floods struck the Gyirong Port area along the China-Nepal border on Tuesday.
More than 300 people, including several Nepali individuals, have been safely relocated after the flash flood hit the region.
