Thiruvananthapuram, June 18 -- The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has suspended Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) from participating in any new tenders for one year, media reports said.
The action stems from the company's failure to carry out proper slope protection and drainage works on the Chengala-Neeleshwaram stretch of National Highway 66 in Kerala, according to a Business Today report.
Show cause notice and penalty
MEIL has been served a show cause notice regarding the one-year debarment, which may also carry a financial penalty of up to Rs.9 crore.
