Amsterdam/IBNS, Feb. 24 -- Netherlands' youngest and first openly gay Prime Minister Rob Jetten took oath on Monday and is set to head a new Dutch government, media reports said.
Jetten, 38, dislodged the far-right Party for Freedom (PVV) with a narrow margin.
The coalition has only 66 seats in the 150-member parliament, meaning the government will have to negotiate with opposition parties to pass legislation.
Jetten represents a new generation of European leadership-young, pro-European Union, liberal, and climate-focused. However, his minority government means his leadership will depend heavily on compromise and coalition-building.
