In a post on X, Oct. 4 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday praised former U.S. President Donald Trump for his peace efforts in Gaza, after Hamas agreed to release all remaining Israeli hostages under a proposed U.S.-brokered plan.

"We welcome President Trump's leadership as peace efforts in Gaza make decisive progress. Indications of the release of hostages mark a significant step forward. India will continue to strongly support all efforts towards a durable and just peace."

Hamas confirmed it had accepted Trump's 20-point peace plan, though the group is seeking further negotiations on some provisions.
