India, Jan. 31 -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed sadness over the loss of lives in the collision of an American Airlines flight with an Army Black Hawk helicopter in the USA, marking one of the worst aviation mishaps recorded in the country.
Mourning the loss of lives in the tragedy, Modi wrote on X: "Deeply saddened by loss of lives in the tragic collision in Washington DC."
"Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims," he said.
"We stand in solidarity with the people of the United States," the Indian PM wrote tagging US President Donald Trump.
Three soldiers were present in the helicopter.
Rescue teams have recovered the bodies of 28 people so far.
