India, Oct. 16 -- A viral video of a mother elephant rescuing her calf, shared by Indian Forest Services (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan, has melted the internet by perfectly capturing compassion in the wild.
The 17-second clip shows a baby elephant struggling to climb up a roadside slope. Within moments, its mother and another elephant rush to help, gently nudging and pushing the calf until it manages to get back on its feet.
"That mother-calf duo. Nobody should leave behind," Kaswan captioned the clip, which has now been widely shared across social media platforms. In the video, a few people can be seen patiently waiting from a distance as the herd safely crosses the road.
