India, Jan. 12 -- Germany on Monday announced a visa-free airport transit facility for Indian citizens during bilateral talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Gandhinagar.
"Announcement of visa-free transit for Indian passport holders for transiting through Germany," the Indian government said in a press release outlining the key outcomes of the discussions between the two leaders.
Under the new arrangement, Indian passport holders will be able to transit through German airports for onward international connections without the need to apply for a separate transit visa, significantly easing travel.
