Mumbai/IBNS, July 8 -- The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers were on Tuesday morning detained by police here after they took out a march to oppose the protests against the outfit's assault on a shopkeeper for not speaking Marathi, media reports said.
In dramatic visuals, the MNS workers were picked up and put into police vans.
The detained workers questioned the police why the traders, who protested against the slapgate, were allowed to carry out agitation while they were not.
In a strict message, Fadnavis last week said Marathi should be respected but thuggery in the name of language won't be tolerated in the state.
