Minimum $200 billion stimuli needed to support the Indian economy in the background of the pandemic says ASSOCHAM
Kolkata, April 8 -- Apex industry body, Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India or ASSOCHAM, has recommended a 16 point agenda and a stimulus package of at least $200-$300 billion to thwart one of the deepest global recession expected in the backdrop of the Covid19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, in a recommendation letter to the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, ASSOCHAM President, Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, has proposed several radical measures to maintain the country's economic subsistence during this trying phase.According to ASSOCHAM's Secretary-General, Deepak Sood, the Chamber believes that in keeping up with most economies of the world to institute stimulus measures with 10 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), ...
