India, June 14 -- At least one woman died and several others were injured after Iranian missiles hit Israel on Friday, media reports said, further escalating tension in the region.

A woman was killed when a weapon fragment fell to the ground in the Israeli city of Ramat Gan, Israeli Police told CNN.

This is the first fatality reported in Israel after Iran launched missiles at the nation.

Israel's envoy to the US Yechiel Leiter confirmed the death of the woman in the attack.

"We faced three salvos of ballistic missiles fired from Iran today, about 150 in total," Yechiel Leiter told CNN.
