India, July 4 -- The Allahabad High Court on Friday dismissed the petition filed by the Hindu side that sought a declaration of the Shahi Masjid in Mathura as a disputed structure.
This marks the latest development in the ongoing battle over the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Shahi Idgah mosque in Mathura.
The petition, Application A-44, had sought to officially designate the Shahi Idgah mosque as a "disputed structure" in court records and further proceedings, reported India Today.
The plea was rejected by the single bench of Justice Ram Manohar Narayan Mishra.
The next hearing in the case will be held on August 2.
