India, Jan. 3 -- The Indian government has approved 22 proposals under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) with a projected investment of INR 41,863 crore, giving a boost to the country's electronics manufacturing sector.

The government said it expects the approvals to generate 33,791 direct employment opportunities.

These approvals include manufacturing of 11 target segment products, which have cross sectoral application such as mobile manufacturing, telecom, consumer electronics, strategic electronics, automotive and IT hardware products.
