India, Dec. 14 -- Indian Railways has recorded steady growth in the production of Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches, which are designed to offer enhanced safety, improved riding comfort and better operational performance.

Factory-wise data shows that the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, produced 1,659 LHB coaches during the period, followed by the Modern Coach Factory (MCF), Raebareli, with 1,234 coaches, and the Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala, which rolled out 1,331 coaches.

A long-term comparison highlights significant progress in LHB coach manufacturing. Between 2014 and 2025, Indian Railways produced over 42,600 LHB coaches, representing an 18-fold increase compared with around 2,300 coaches manufactured between 2004 and...
