Berlin, Feb. 4 -- German carrier Lufthansa will add 25 new aircraft to its fleet in 2026 as part of a broader push to improve punctuality and upgrade passenger services, the airline said on Tuesday.

The airline plans to introduce a revamped service offering aimed at making long-distance travel more attractive across all cabin classes.

Ritter said recent operational performance had also improved following major delays in 2023 and 2024.

"We are as punctual as we were 10 years ago," Ritter said, without providing specific data.

Lufthansa said the upgrades would extend beyond business and first-class cabins to economy passengers, who make up the majority of travellers.
