Kolkata/IBNS, June 27 -- Three people have been arrested in connection with the gangrape of a law student at a college in Kolkata's Kasba area, media reports said.

The incident allegedly took place on the campus of the law college under Kasba police station on June 25 evening.

Among the arrested, two are current students in the college and the other is a former student of the institution.

The main accused, who was a regular visitor to the campus, had passed out from the college in 2022.

He currently practices in the Alipore court. The identities of the accused have not been revealed by police.

The opposition BJP alleged that one of the accused is a former student and ruling Trinamool Congress affiliated union member.
