India, Feb. 10 -- Keeping in tandem with Uzbekistan's big AI plans, engineering giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has been awarded a contract to construct Uzbekistan's first AI-enabled and sustainable 10-megawatt data centre in Tashkent.
L&T described the contract as a "significant" order, a classification indicating a project valued between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore.
The company will oversee the engineering, procurement, and construction of the state-of-the-art facility, which will incorporate advanced artificial intelligence capabilities to support next-generation AI applications.
The data centre is designed to optimize energy efficiency while minimizing environmental impact, the release stated.
