Kolkata/IBNS, May 1 -- The owner and manager of Kolkata's Rituraj Hotel, where a deadly fire broke out on Tuesday evening, have been arrested this morning.

The Kolkata Police arrested Akash Chawla and Gaurav Kapoor, the owner and manager of the hotel respectively, on Thursday morning.

The flames were brought under control almost 10 hours after 10 fire tenders were pressed into service.

In a moment of panic, one jumped off the fourth floor fracturing his leg while some leaned out of windows and screamed for help in a desperate attempt to escape from the hotel, where 88 guests were staying in 42 rooms.

Among the killed, 11 were men, one woman and two children.
