India, Sept. 12 -- A 17-year-old school student was stabbed to death by a friend following a heated argument inside the Dakshineswar Metro Station, located close to Kolkata, on Friday.

The incident triggered panic among commuters.

The deceased student was identified as Manojit Yadav.

He was a student of Bagbazar High School.

The injured student was rushed to Baranagar State General Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Police reached the spot soon after receiving the information and cordoned off the area for investigation. CCTV footage from the metro station is being examined to identify those involved. Metro officials confirmed that bloodstains were found in the non-ticketing zone of the station.
