Ahmedabad/IBNS, Oct. 3 -- KL Rahul slammed a century to take India to a comfortable position on day two of the inaugural Test against West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium here on Friday.

India scored 218-3 at lunch on day two.

The senior player was accompanied by wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel, who was unbeaten at 14.

Earlier, Indian captain Shubman Gill was dismissed after completing his 50.

Siraj picked four wickets for 40 runs while Bumrah clinched three conceding 42 runs to the visitors.

Kuldeep Yadav, who had a brilliant Asia Cup, picked two wickets while his spin-bowling partner Washington Sundar grabbed one.
