Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 6 -- The head of the Congress party's social media wing in Kerala has stepped down following a storm over a controversial online post that provoked sharp reactions from political leaders across states.

The remark, referencing the GST Council's move to lower the levy on bidis from 28 percent to 18 percent while hiking taxes on cigarettes, was widely condemned as disparaging towards Bihar and its people.
