India, Dec. 30 -- As part of the ongoing expansion of the Kavach safety system, Indian Railways has commissioned Kavach 4.0 on Gujarat's first Bajwa (Vadodara)-Ahmedabad section, covering a stretch of 96 km.

The project spans 17 stations and includes extensive safety infrastructure, comprising 23 communication towers, 20 Kavach buildings or huts, 192 km of optical fibre cable, and the installation of 2,872 RFID tags along the route.

Kavach 4.0 is now fully operational on the corridor and is designed to automatically mitigate safety risks by preventing incidents arising from Signal Passed at Danger (SPAD).
