Srinagar/IBNS, May 2 -- The Pakistan soldiers have violated ceasefire for the eighth consecutive night along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, triggering a swift response by the Indian Army, media reports said.

The Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire in five districts of Jammu and Kashmir amid the heightened border tensions between the two nuclear power-armed South Asian countries in the backdrop of the Pahalgam terror attack.

In the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 civilians were killed, key military officials of both countries on Tuesday spoke over the hotline, and New Delhi has warned Islamabad against "unprovoked violations" along the Line of Control, news agency ANI reported quoting sources.
