India, Jan. 13 -- TVK chief and actor Vijay has been summoned again by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and asked to appear in Delhi on January 19 in connection with the Karur stampede tragedy that claimed 41 lives.
Vijay was questioned by the central agency for nearly six hours on Monday.
NDTV, quoting sources, reported that Vijay told investigators that his party was responsible for organising the rally where the stampede occurred, but denied allegations that his actions led to the tragedy.
The investigation has changed hands multiple times. Initially, the Madras High Court constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident.
