India, Oct. 5 -- Days after the stampede at actor-turned-politician Vijay's rally in Karur that killed 41 people and injured over 60, BJP leader Khushbu Sundar alleged the tragedy was "planned" and blamed the DMK government for negligence and poor crowd management.

Sundar accused Chief Minister MK Stalin of "mute inaction", claiming authorities knew the kind of turnout Vijay would draw but still failed to provide an adequate venue.

"It seems like a created calamity," she said.

Vijay arrived nearly seven hours late, triggering a fresh wave of excitement that led to people climbing trees and rooftops.
