Bengaluru, March 10 -- The Karnataka government has proposed three potential locations for Bengaluru's second international airport and submitted the plan to the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation on Thursday, Deccan Herald reported.

According to the proposal, two of the suggested sites are situated along Kanakapura Road in south Bengaluru, diagonally opposite the existing Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).

The state government has assured the Ministry that it is ready to provide a minimum of 4,500 acres at any of the proposed sites, Moneyconrol reported.

Following standard procedure, the Ministry will deploy a team from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to assess these sites.
