Gwalior, June 24 -- Commemorating the 20th anniversary of Indian Air Force (IAF) strike on Tiger hill during the Kargil war, the IAF on Monday organised a seminar on 'Air operations in Kargil war, Lessons learnt and way forward' at Air Force Station, here.
On June 24,1999, the Mirage-2000 fighter jets used the Laser Guided Bomb(LGB) on Tiger hill during Kargil war.
The focus of this seminar was conduct of air operation at high altitudes by fighters, transports and helicopters of IAF employing contemporary equipment and innovative strategies.
It highlighted the importance of synergy and integration of IAF with other defence services in undertaking high altitude operations.
