Bengaluru, July 12 -- In a disturbing case of domestic violence, Kannada television actor and anchor Manjula Shruthi was brutally attacked by her husband Amresh over alleged suspicions of an extramarital affair.

The incident occurred on July 4 at their rented residence in Muneshwara Layout, under the jurisdiction of the Hanumanthnagar police station, but has only now come to light, reported NDTV.

The couple had also been locked in a dispute over house lease money, prompting Shruthi to file a police complaint at the Hanumanthnagar station.

Despite ongoing tensions, the two reportedly reconciled last Thursday.

He also allegedly smashed her head against a wall.

She is currently being treated at Victoria Hospital.
