Hyderabad/IBNS, Sept. 3 -- K Kavitha quit the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) a day after she was suspended from the party which is spearheaded by her father, K Chandrasekhar Rao, media reports said.

Kavitha, an MLC, was suspended by the BRS on Tuesday over "anti-party activities".

Suspending Kavitha, BRS leaders Soma Bharat Kumar and T. Ravinder Rao on Tuesday said in a statement, "Party MLC Smt. K. Kavitha, in view of her future legal cases, inquiries, and the related issues concerning the future activities of the BRS Party, the party leadership has carefully considered the matter.

"Party President Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao has taken the decision to suspend Smt. K. Kavitha from the party with immediate effect."
