Mumbai/IBNS, Dec. 1 -- Bollywood veteran Jaya Bachchan has stirred social media with her unconventional take on marriage during a recent show, calling the institution "outdated" and advising young women to "just enjoy life" without conforming to societal expectations.

Bachchan did not spare her own family from her views, openly admitting that she doesn't want her entrepreneur granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda, to get married.

When asked about advice for young women on raising children, she added, "I am a grandmother now while Navya is turning 28. I think I am too old to advise young girls today on raising children. Things have changed so much. The present generation's children are very smart."
