India, July 14 -- Italian Tennis star Jannik Sinner put up a strong show on the green turf to beat Carlos Alcaraz and lift his first Wimbledon title on Sunday.

The Wimbledon final saw the same competitors facing each other for the second time in five weeks, when they had faced each other to clinch the French Open title.

The result this time was in favour of Sinner, who bounced back from the French Open final defeat to beat Alcaraz by 4-6 6-4 6-4 6-4.

Sinner is now the first Italian to win the Wimbledon singles title.

This was Sinner's fourth Grand Slam victory.

The defeat in England also ended Alcaraz's 24-match winning streak.
