India, July 14 -- External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing on Monday where the two leaders spoke about building a stable and constructive relationship.

Jaishankar is visiting China for the first time since the 2020 border clash between India and Chinese soldiers that had deteriorated ties between the two neighbours.

"Held detailed talks with Politburo Member and FM Wang Yi in Beijing this evening," Jaishankar wrote on X.

"Spoke about the need for a far-seeing approach to bilateral ties and building a stable & constructive relationship," he said, sharing details on the meeting.
