India, April 1 -- Israel on Tuesday confirmed the killing of senior Hezbollah leader Hassan Ali Mahmoud Bdeir in the Dahieh area of Lebanon.

The region is known as a strong Hezbollah stronghold.

Israel Defense Forces said the eliminated 'terrorist' was attached with Hezbollah's Unit 3900 and the Iranian Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

"Bdeir recently operated in cooperation with the Hamas terrorist organization, assisting them in planning and advancing a significant and imminent terror attack against Israeli civilians," IDF said in a statement.

Imminent Strike On Israel

IDF said Bdeir was eliminated since his possible plan to strike Israel was imminent.
