India, June 23 -- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who is currently visiting Moscow, met Russian President Vladimir Putin, just a day after the US targeted Iran's nuclear facilities amid escalating tension in the Middle East region.

The foreign minister arrived late on Sunday to hold talks with Putin and senior Russian officials and discuss the development of the situation in the Middle East and in the world after the US and Israeli strikes on Iran, reported Sputnik.

Araghchi arrived in Moscow on Sunday.

Tehran is grateful to Moscow for condemning actions of Israel, US against Iran, Araghchi told Putin, reported Sputnik.
