India, June 11 -- Iran has executed nine members of the terror group Islamic State on Tuesday, media reports said.
They were arrested in 2018.
The case, charged with waging war through armed rebellion and possession of military weapons, was referred to the Tehran Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office. After investigations and the issuance of an indictment, it was sent to court, reported Mizan Online.
Following trial sessions attended by the defendants and their lawyers, the court, based on the case's evidence, confessions, and the defendants' actions-including carrying weapons, engaging in combat with IRGC forces, and martyring three Najaf Base fighters-sentenced the nine ISIS members to death, the Iranian news portal reported....
